SFX, COLOURGRADING, EXPORTING, BREAKDOWN Busy week this week! Started it off with doing my sound, I found a track off of youtube I thought fit the vibe for my background song, for the majority of my SFX I sourced it from freesound.org and I also voiced any sounds that Gerry made and just pitched them to be a bit different. I did all of this sound mixing in premiere pro adjusting the decibles to make it sound balenced.  After I was happy with this I took it into Divinci Resolve to colour grading, the majority of my shots I warmed the tone, increased the saturation and upped the contreast slightly. I think I will have to create a seperate version with different colourgrading for the screening night as I've heard the projector increases the saturation and contrast a million percent and I don't want to blind anyone HAHA . Hopefully I'll get a chance next week to check my film on the projector before the screening. Here's a before and after! Exporting everthing was pretty st...

EDITING AND RETIMING This week I took all my composited scenes and started splicing them together in Premiere pro and retiming a lot of them trying to fix the pacing. I also swapped around a couple scenes for example I switched my two scenes with Gerry in the bus because I realised that the following scene with the bus infront of the supermarket didn't have any passangers inside the bus so I wanted the passangers to match. I also had to go back and fix some of my graphics because the pacing was a bit off. Next step is SFX!

COMPOSITING This Week I Finshed the last of my compositing! Yay!! This included my last long shot of him in bed recieving news that he has been offered an interview. This was quite fun and I was able to get a clip from my classmate Jacky's youtube channel to put into my film aswell. He will be watching it on his computer. I also went back and fixed a few things that annoyed me like some shadow movement or mistimed graphics. Next step is editing all my shots together. I'm cautious of time cause we're really in crunch now but I feel as though my time management is still quite good. Looking forward to retiming everything and seeing the story come together.

COMPOSITING  This week i've continued to power through my compositing, with only one scene left to composite! Still some tweakes I want to make but I'll do these after completing all the main parts of my project.  I also am doing some compositing work for my classmate Henry's project. I should recieve the files tommorow in person as they are quite big. Happy to see the finsih line in sight!

COMPOSITING This week I got my Nuke license Up and running so I’m focusing on compositing. I’m doing more compositing in Adobe software this time around but I’m still using Nuke to blend my stop motion animation using motion blur. I’ve composited about 40 seconds worth of footage so far but I’m not completely happy with it yet. I want to elongate a shot where he’s drinking coffee to create more of a pause and I also want to key animate my drink simulation to match the cups stop motion path. Really happy with how it’s looking can’t wait to do more.

LIQUID SIMULATION, BASIC COMPOSITING MOCK UPS I did my vellum liquid simulation in houdini for my pouring tea scene. I started by modeling and animating colliders in maya that would match my stopmotion scene. I ran into some problems taking this into houdini as I forgot about the sizing differences between the programs. If sized up in houdini the animation would be warped but if I sized down the particles they would be to big and so i had to reanimate it in maya at 30X the size. There was a bit of spilling following my filmed footage but I actually enjoyed the look of the spillage.  After I had rendered the simuations I took them into premiere pro for a composition mock up just to make sure everything looked right and I was happy with my simulation but i think I'm going to redo my footage cause I did just regualr filmimg for the hand scenes but the green screen came out so choppy and looks bad againt the clean simulation. So I think I'll redo it wth stop motion as intended. I...
