Sem 2 Week 6

LIVE SHOOTS, EDITED FOOTAGE, RESHOOTS, 2D ELEMENTS This week my goal was to get all my footage ready for compositing. Which the majority of it is! Some footage is still a bit rough around the edges but I decided I can fix it when I need it and to keep moving forward. This week I also filmed some live action footage behind a green screen which I’m hoping to integrate into my backgrounds. I also reshot a few close ups in this time. I then decided to create a few 2D elements also, which I can overlay to bring a more collages look to my work. Going forward it’s time for simulation! Yay! I have nothing crazy I need to do, just a liquid simulation (pouring tea out of a teapot).

Sem 2 Week 5

I’ve had a busy social week! So didn’t end up getting as much done as I’d like. But I’m still ahead of schedule. Spent the week going through my rough cut, keying out blue screen and green screen and rotoscoping where ever it needed more tweaking. I’ve been doing this on Adobe Premiere Pro as I felt it was the simplest tool for the job. Some of the footage is quite rough so I have to refine the edges. Going forward I need to finish this keying and get them ready as usable EXR’s to import into Nuke. I think I might also do some re shoots of some hand shots as they’re a bit blurry and edit certain frames.

Sem 2 Week 4

RENDERED SCENES, ANIMATED BUS, TEXTURED BUS, EDITED PLATES, COLLAGED PLATES I started the week off by getting the finished bus and interior bus scene from Henry, textured and animated it then finished rendering all the scenes that included that. I thought about using RedShift because it looked beautiful but retexturing everything to work in RedShift would set me back a week and I thought that the lost time would not be worth it. I think it would be worth it if I was striving for realism but for my cartoony style Arnold renderer works! I then edited my environment plates, I edited the images to be more vibrant and then took photos of things around my house that I wanted to collage and collaged them in. going forward I need to go over all my footage, key the blue screen, edit any colour differences and edit the motion.

ENVIRONMENT MODELLING, TEXTURING This week I edited the last two enviroments, the inside of the supermarket and the living room- kitchen area. I love how I've really turned it up with the patterns and textures but I still want to add more in my collage step of creating my plates.  Henry, who I'm swapping work with for our projects also completed the modelling, rigging and UV unwrapping of my bus so I have to texture that very soon. I'm very happy with it, especially the rig. The way it moves is very cartooney and fits perfectly I also played around with renders and redshift and dicided it wasn't for me and prefered my imperfect Arnold renders. Going forward I need to render my final plates for my 3D enviroments and start gathering objects I'd like to photograph and edit into my plates :))
